About Us
The Business Board supports entrepreneurship by focusing on second-stage entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations and the belief that they are vital to our economy. The Business Board believes that these entrepreneurs have the best opportunity to succeed if they learn from their peers with the guidance of professional trained facilitators.
WHAT DRIVES US
The Business Board was started by Maria Gianino an entrepreneur and business owner in St. Louis, MO. She saw the need for support for small business owners after they were past their start up and were in the growth mode. Networking and Chamber of Commerce events could not fill the gap so The Business Board was started. Maria Gianino owns Homewatch Caregivers a Home Health Care Agency along with her husband Michael. She also owns and manages numerous residential and commerical real estate properties under Gianino Realty. She has also owned and managed three locations of a retail antique store. She was awarded the 2007 Webster Goves Chamber of commerce Best New Business of The Year Award. She is a graduate of CORO Women In Leadership Class 47, The University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Business Administration and Maryville University with a Masters in Counseling expected completion 2009. She has served on the boards of various nonprofit organizations including National Alliance on Mental Illness NAMI , National Association of Women Business Owners NAWBO and The Webster Groves/Shrewsbury Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also a professional Business and Career Coach . In her free time she provides "hand holding" and support to new business start-ups.
